For super high-load applications, including offshore winching and towing, Marlow also manufactures a full range of 12 strand Dyneema products up to 96mm diameter. For applications where flex-fatigue is a critical factor, such as two drum traction winches, D12 Plus is available in Dyneema XBO, a treatment applied at yarn manufacturing stage which increases resistance to bending fatigue. In applications that require such high break loads, the weight of a steel wire winch rope becomes a handicap and will have a significant impact on the lifting or pulling capacity of the winch. Not so with Marlow's D12 Plus which strength for strength is 8 times lighter than steel wire.
